چکیده
The increased use of ectoine and hydroxyectoine in cosmetics pharmaceuticals has led to the increasing demand for these bioactive compounds. This study aims investigate production by halophilic bacteria isolated from traditional solar saltern at Pejarakan Village, Buleleng Regency, Province Bali, Indonesia. were grown brine sediment samples using Luria Bertani media. was determined inoculating MM63 media containing 12% w/v NaCl. Ectoine then extracted bacterial cells a mixture methanol/chloroform/water (10/5/4). Finally, ability excrete investigated osmotic downshock technique. results showed that total 88 have been which varied salt tolerances 0 27.5% w/v. Most (86 isolates) able grow media, suggesting potential producing hydroxyectoine. Further investigation 33 selected produce with levels 9.1 301.8 mg/L 3.9 122.1 mg/L, respectively. All also after process 9.8 277.5 14.3 122.7 best hydroxyectoine-producing closest homology relationship Salinivibrio costicola kushneri. Our found several promising candidates producers.

Ch2, a novel halophilic archaeon from an Australian solar saltern.
A novel halophilic archaeon, strain Ch2, was isolated from a marine solar saltern in Geelong, Australia. The fact that this organism had a dam-methylated genome suggested that it is closely related to the taxon that includes Halobacterium saccharovorum, Halobacterium sodomense, and Halobacterium trapanicum. A sequence analysis of the 16S rRNA gene (Ch2 has three copies of this gene) showed that...
متن کاملHalomonas kribbensis sp. nov., a novel moderately halophilic bacterium isolated from a solar saltern in Korea.
A moderately halophilic, Gram-negative bacterium, designated strain BH843(T), was isolated from a solar saltern in Korea and subjected to a taxonomic analysis. Strain BH843(T) grew at salinities of 1-14 % (w/v) NaCl and at temperatures of 10-40 degrees C. The cells were motile cocci or short rods with single flagella and contained C(16 : 0), C(19 : 0) cyclo omega8c and C(17 : 0) cyclo as the ma...
متن کاملCulturable Diversity and Enzyme Production Survey of Halophilic Prokaryotes from a Solar Saltern on the Shore of the Oman Sea
The prokaryotic residents of the Tis solar saltern in the southeast of Iran on the shore of Oman Sea were investigated by the culture-dependent methods. Sequencing of the PCR-amplified fragments of 16S rRNA genes revealed that bacterial populations were related to Actinobacteria, Bacteroidetes, Balneolaeota, Firmicutes, and Proteobacteria. T...
متن کاملExtremely halophilic bacteria in crystallizer ponds from solar salterns.
It is generally assumed that hypersaline environments with sodium chloride concentrations close to saturation are dominated by halophilic members of the domain Archaea, while Bacteria are not considered to be relevant in this kind of environment. Here, we report the high abundance and growth of a new group of hitherto-uncultured Bacteria in crystallizer ponds (salinity, from 30 to 37%) from mul...

A moderately halophilic bacterium, strain CG2.1T, isolated from a solar saltern at Cabo de Gata, a wildlife reserve located in the province of Almería, southern Spain, was subjected to a polyphasic taxonomic study. This organism was an aerobic, motile, Gram-negative rod that produced orange-pigmented colonies. Strain CG2.1T was able to grow at salinities of 3-25 % (w/v) and at temperatures of 1...
